Interpol side-project Big Noble unveils new video and tracklisting for ambient debut LP.
Following the release of latest album El Pintor this past September, Interpol guitarist Daniel Kessler set about delving back into a new side project in collaboration with sound engineer Joseph Fraioli. The result of this partnership, Big Noble, is set to release debut LP First Light this coming February.
The concept record uses manipulations of Kesslers guitar in concert with field recordings and subtle production by Fraioli to explore the urban landscape of New York; specifically, the under-the-surface emotional lives behind the urban chaos. Fraioli says of the intentions of Big Noble:
Immersive and perspective-changing...sonically a lot of the arrangements feel technically vast, but there’s an intimacy that I hope listeners will find addictive to escape within.
Today the duo unveiled an as yet unheard cut from the forthcoming debut. Watch the video (directed by Andrew Robertson) for "Stay Gold" above.
First Light is out February 2nd on the Affiliates Sound imprint (via Kobalt Label Services) and available to pre-order now.
